Canadian Urology Association Journal publishes Foundational Clinical Study for Contino®
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: August 6, 2020
Vancouver, BC, Canada: Life360 Innovations Inc. (Life360 Innovations) is pleased to announce the publication of its foundational clinical study (Study) for Contino® in the June 2020 edition of the Canadian Urology Association Journal (CUAJ) found here. The Contino® urethral insert is a self-administered licensed medical device that controls bladder leakage in men.
The five-year multi-site Study demonstrated safety and efficacy of improved management of stress urinary incontinence (UI) in men. Study participants experienced a significant reduction in absorbent pad weight and improved quality of life. Some participants also observed health improvements related to both urinary function and general health including improved urge reflex and bladder sensitivity. It is also important to note that there were no serious adverse events (AE) and of the AEs reported, almost all were minor and expected, with minor medical intervention required on only three occasions.
On the recent publication of the Study Life360 Innovations CEO Robert Orr said, “This publication is the culmination of over a decade of research and development and marks a significant milestone that will help accelerate the commercialization of its first of its kind medical device”. As a result, we would like to thank the many people involved with the Study and in particular would like to acknowledge the significant contributions of the Study’s authors: Dr. Dean Elterman, Dr. Richard Casey, and Dr. Mike Holloway.
UI affects the lives of more than one million Canadian men, often resulting from treatment of prostate cancer or benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Fear of urinary leakage or major accidents, as well as discontent with adult briefs, has left a treatment gap for affected men that Contino® will help fill.
